Disaster relief! - The resource packet is designed to assist property owners in navigating the property tax relief programs available after a disaster has affected their property. 

Included are fact sheets that explains the information that needs to be provided to the Assessor’s Office to claim property tax relief and update contact information, as well as copies of the forms that property owners will need to do so.

The U.S. Small Business Admin. (SBA) provides disaster relief funds that help small businesses and homeowners, by setting guidelines for loans and reducing lender risk. 

The SBA-funded loans make it easier for small businesses, homeowners, small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, and most private nonprofit organizations located in a declared disaster area, and which have suffered substantial economic injury may be eligible for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL).

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has launched an interactive Water Quality Restoration Dashboard to provide essential updates and information for residents affected by the “Do Not Drink” notice in effect in most portions of Pacific Palisades and adjacent LADWP service areas.

 If your registration card has been lost, stolen, or mutilated, you may get a replacement registration card for a fee. 

Also, If your driver’s license (DL) has been lost, stolen, damaged or mutilated, a replacement DL can be requested using this system.

 If you have any questions or concerns regarding how your insurance company is handling your claim, the department of Insurance is there to help.

They offer a consumer hotline and a watchdog service. Free of charge they will investigate your claim for you.

Did you lose checks in the fire written to you and now they are destroyed? Here is the backup. California’s Unclaimed Property Law requires financial institutions, insurance companies, corporations, businesses, and other entities to report and submit customers’ property to the State Controller’s Office when there has been no activity for a period of time (generally 3 years ). ie: bank accounts, stocks, uncashed checks, insurance benefits, wages, and safe deposit box contents.

In the wake of the Eaton and Palisades Fires, disaster recovery experts from multiple universities have come together to expedite and empower household and business recovery decisions.
